Leslie Barber

Leslie Barber is a professor of biology at Great Bay Community College and a Mellon Faculty Fellow for the Community College System of New Hampshire. In this latter capacity, she has been instrumental in establishing course equivalencies and robust transfer pathways between CCSNH and the University of New Hampshire. She is CCSNH PI for several system-wide grant programs, including NH-INBRE, NH-EPSCoR, INCLUDES, Noyce Scholars and ARMI. She is also a member of the leadership team for the New Hampshire Humanities Collaborative. She was founding chair of the Chancellor’s Faculty Academic Advisory Council. Leslie’s current research interests involve the history and philosophy of molecular genetics.

Sadie Reed Stimmell

Dr. Sadie Reed Stimmell is a Professor of Biological Sciences and Chair of the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Manchester Community College, NH. She teaches Biology, General Ecology, and Principles of Genetics. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology at the University of Arizona, a Master’s Degree in Biology at Northern Michigan University and a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolution at Kent State University. Her research interests include phylogenetics, population genetics and mating system evolution in androdioecious animals. Sadie has developed curriculum to integrate research into the classroom laboratory, and she mentors undergraduates in research experiences outside of the classroom. She leads a student learning trip to Ecuador each year to work on clean water initiatives. She is the advisor to the TriBeta club at MCC. Sadie enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family and is an avid long distance runner.
