Ultra-High Pressure Liquid Chromatography and Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry System (Ascend Tribrid)

The Thermo Orbitrap Ascend Tribrid is a high-resolution mass spectrometer that is capable of operating over an extended mass range of m/z 40 - 16,000 and is coupled with a Vanquish Neo UHPLC system to perform LC-MS analysis.  The instrument is capable of up to 480,000 FWHM mass resolving power (at m/z 200), a < 1 ppm mass error, and offers sensitivities on the order of femtograms.  The detector also allows for a large dynamic range of up to >5,000, with the instrument electronics capable of high scan rates and polarity switching.  In addition, the instrument is upgraded with a high field asymmetric waveform ion mobility spectrometry (FAIMS) module for enhanced ion separation at the instrument inlet, as well as Easy-ETD and UVPD ion sources within the instrument for enhanced fragmentation in order to better elucidate molecular structures of large molecules.  Both heated electrospray and nanospray flex ion sources are available for the Ascend Mass Spectrometer, offering a wide range of flow rates (µL to nL) for sample introduction.
